Here's to a lot to be grateful for...
This year has been quite a year. A lot of transitions personally and growth.
1) Choosing Courage To Jump Out of the Nest
First, it took a lot of courage and deep thinking to leave a company and a team I cherish and love at Alphabet. After 10+ years at Alphabet, I left to be a Senior Director at Linkedin, another great tech company with an amazing culture. That was a big leap of faith personally to explore the unknown.
2) Welcoming the Unexpected
I had no idea what was really awaiting from this experience. I didn't know what I didn't know. The unexpected was I re-discovered myself and rekindled my voice. Those who have known me for a while know that I am very creative. I use my creativity to ideate and problem-solve on the fly. I am also a design thinking facilitator.
How it will show up: I will share my point of view online in video, blog posts, and imagery - among the common formats.
My topics of interest are Marketing, Diversity and Inclusion, Women in leadership, The Future of Finance, Decentralized Finance (DeFi) and more.
3) Lifting Others
I aim to help lift others as I climb, especially people experiencing a feeling of "otherness", of being different, it could be underrepresented people from minority groups, it could be women and non-binary people, it could be people with a neurodivergence. In 2023, I wish to share what I have learned along the way as a 'corporate athlete', as a former entrepreneur / CEO, as a woman who has often been 'the only", as a marketer, and as an anxious overachieving extrovert leading revenue generation and sales for two decades.
Let me know if you have questions on any of the above.
Now - let me express my gratitude to:
my friends and family for challenging my thinking, cheering me up, and rooting for me in their corner.
my husband - who supports my ambitions and helps us find balance as a family.
my teams - past and current who share diverse perspectives and challenge the status quo.
my teams - for being open-minded and patient as we go through a lot of change in a time like never before.
my peers and manager - who are extremely inclusive, supportive, loving, and radically candid.
my work partners - who help make our big dreams a reality every month, every day.
new connections - I've been blown away by all the new connections I am able to make on LinkedIn who are broadening my perspective and sharing a depth of knowledge.
old inactive connections - It's incredible how many people we encounter only once in our lifetime, that when we re-engage have value to add and deep contributions.
Happy Holidays to you!
Happy Kwanzaa, Hannukah, and Christmas to You!
Here's to a lot to be grateful for!
